The Supplemental Security Appropriations Act Ukraine was approved by legislators with 311 votes in favor and 112 against. Republican Dan Meuser voted absentee.
Following approval by the House of Representatives, the bill now goes to the Senate for a vote and will subsequently be sent to the US president for his signature. Once signed by Joe Biden, the initiative will come into force.
It should be noted that the President of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, who presented the project, indicated that 80% of the funds in the new aid package will be allocated to replenishing US weapons and reserves:
- Some 23 billion dollars intended for spare parts for US weapons, arsenals and facilities.
- More of 11 billion dollars that would finance the current US military operations in the region.
- Nearly 14 billion dollars would help Ukraine purchase advanced weapons systems and other defense equipment.

Earlier this week, US President Joe Biden declared that ”strongly supports this package” and urged the Senate to approve it quickly: ”I will sign this law immediately to send a message to the world: We are with our friends and we will not let Iran or Russia succeed,” he claimed.
More projects with green light
In the same session, the Lower House also voted in favor of a complementary bill aimed at Indo-Pacific securitywhat includes $8.1 billion and whose objective is counter China’s actions in the Indo-Pacific region.
In addition, the green light was given to the bill that will allow allocating $26.4 billion in help to Israel.
Likewise, an initiative was approved that approves confiscation of frozen Russian assets in favor of Ukraine. At the same time, according to the bill, the company that owns TikTok, ByteDance will have nine months to sell the social network, otherwise the application will be banned in American app stores.
