A ride in the Hausruckviertel ended in hospital on Saturday afternoon for part of an eight-person riding group: The riders, including two girls aged ten, were riding Icelandic horses in the municipality of Ampflwang (Vöcklabruck district) when it happened around 2:45 p.m the accident occurred. For reasons that are still unclear, some of the horses shied away and three women and two girls were thrown off.
To the hospital by helicopter
A ten-year-old from the Zell am See district sustained such serious injuries that she had to be taken to a hospital by rescue helicopter. A girl of the same age and two women aged 39 and 48, all also from the Zell am See district, were slightly injured. The rescue took her to the hospital. The horses were quickly caught again and were not harmed, the police reported on Saturday evening.
