Upper Austrians seem to feel comfortable in their federal state: people living here gave their federal state an average of 3.93 out of 5 possible quality of life points. This puts Upper Austria in third place in a federal state comparison behind Carinthia and Salzburg. This is the core message of the “Relocation Report” from s Real Immobilien in cooperation with the real estate portal wohnnet.at. 1824 people were interviewed.
Where the ownership rate is higher, the quality of life is also rated better: in the countryside, respondents rate the quality of life with 3.9 out of 5 points, in the cities the value is 3.8. The search for a better quality of life and cheaper living costs are the main motives for moving: one in seven planned moves was due to the cost of living.
The rural population emphasizes the landscape, while the city dwellers see infrastructure and good working conditions as plus points. In general, many people living here complain about the public transport network and would like better connections.
