Spain reinstates the mandatory use of a mask abroad

“The mandatory use of masks outdoors is established,” underlined a government statement, without specifying when the measure will come into effect.

However, on Thursday an extraordinary Council of Ministers was convened to approve the decree law, so that the use of outdoor masks will be effective for Christmas, which always results in large concentrations.

The text was released at a time when an extraordinary meeting was being held between the president of Spain, Pedro Sanchez, and the leaders of the autonomous communities of the country to discuss measures against the spread of Omicron variant.
