Nine fire departments with around 200 helpers responded, Klaus Stebal from the state command said upon request. Turntable ladders from Stockerau and Tulln were also deployed. The flames were brought under control in the afternoon hours.

The fire broke out inside the meat processing hall, said the fire department spokesman. Parts of the ceiling collapsed. The smoke was initially heavy. Respiratory protection teams were deployed to fight the flames. There was alert level B4. There were no injuries, said Stebal. Thermal imaging cameras were used to detect embers.
