The 69-year-old was walking on the narrow Bader Göbl Street towards the town center on Tuesday when the accident occurred around 12 noon. The pensioner told the police that she was hit from behind by a car and fell. The woman sustained injuries to her left elbow.
Passersby called for help
Two passers-by who were crossing a protective path nearby became aware of the injured person and called emergency services. The accident victim was taken to the state hospital in Salzburg. The Mondsee police station is asking for information about the hit-and-run driver by calling 059133 4167.
