The winning team from digi.TNMS Altheim is happy about the prize money for the class fund.

Programming robots so that they can handle complex tasks: 20 teams from twelve middle schools showed that they can do exactly that. They took part in the Lego League final of the Braunau region in the HTL. The tasks required creativity, problem-solving skills and teamwork. The teams mastered all of this in an exemplary manner; ultimately, speed and precision were required: a team from digi.TNMS Altheim was ahead. This prevailed over the competition by a few points and secured 750 euros in prize money for the class fund. Second and third place went to Eggelsberg. Two teams from the music middle school celebrated podium places and prize money of 500 euros and 300 euros respectively.

Lego League for ten years

The Lego League was founded ten years ago. The aim is to awaken and promote young people’s interest in technology and teamwork. Especially in times when artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly influential, including in local companies, engaging with technology and robots at a young age can be beneficial for later professional life. The competition is organized by the HTL Braunau in collaboration with Techno-Z-Braunau. HTL students are initially trained as coaches and then pass on what they have previously learned to the participating middle school students.

This project has been supported by numerous companies in the region for years. These in turn benefit from the fact that the young people get to know the range of the many different companies in the region.
