The Riegler Holzernte GmbH felling crews managed 40,000 cubic meters of wood annually. Then fuel prices for timber transporters rose and sick leave days for forest workers rose. Orders for the Amstettner company dwindled, there was a lack of money in the company account for outstanding payments, which is why a creditor filed for bankruptcy at the St. Pölten regional court. According to the Credit Protection Association 1870, liabilities amount to around 600,000 euros, 20 creditors and nine employees are affected by the bankruptcy. Managing director Christian Krondorfer and Hague resident Franz Kühnel, who, in addition to Riegler Holzernte GmbH, owns a sawmill in Weiten in the Melk district that is not in bankruptcy, presented a restructuring plan.
