Eleven-year-old Emil Buchinger had an impressive performance at the ranking tournament in Lambach. Although he has only had a valid player pass for two weeks, the talent from SPG Pregarten/Gutau won ten games in a row and thus secured first place in his age group. Emil’s training buddy Simon Holzner was also able to demonstrate: The twelve-year-old moved into the upper playoffs without defeat and only narrowly lost 2-3 in his last two games. In the end, we still managed to get second place.
For the girls, Anna Haderer (14) was able to deliver the performance she has often shown in training. She became the third best girl in the tournament, which was one of the largest Upper Austrian ranking tournaments of the season with 103 participants.
These results made Egon Kagerer, youth leader of the SPG Pregarten/Gutau, overjoyed: “The medals we won are evidence of the great work being done by young talent in Pregarten. I can only congratulate the winners.”
