The doctor wanted to insert an implant into the patient and accidentally drilled a screw into the man’s brain, the Turkish news agency IHA reported. The man survived.

The 40-year-old patient said he screamed in pain after the doctor drilled through his jaw, according to the IHA. The doctor x-rayed him, discovered the error and immediately drove him to a hospital. After that he disappeared. In an operation lasting several hours, the screw was removed and the patient was saved, IHA wrote. The father of two said he has taken legal action against the doctor, who has so far refused to reimburse him for treatment costs.
