The Wiesberghaus, located on the northern edge of the Dachstein plateau and managed by Teresa Kritzinger, impressed the jury of experts with, among other things, energy efficiency and a sustainable menu. The hut is supplied exclusively with rainwater. A photovoltaic system can save around 4,000 liters of heating oil per year; on sunny days, the PV system supplies the entire hut.
