It is the first item on the program of the anniversary year – 800 years of the city of Eferding. In Pupping Monastery you can not only visit a living nativity scene (December 24th, 25th, 26th and 31st as well as January 1st, 2nd and 6th), you can also learn more about the origins of the nativity scenes at various stations in the Monastery church.
The Kripperlroas leads from Eferdinger Stadtplatz with a larger-than-life wooden crib to the crib maker Gerlinde Melchart at Stadtplatz 12, to exhibits in the Eferding shops and to the parish church, where two cribs can be seen. Then the hike leads to the monastery in Pupping.
Guided hike
With the city guide Hubert Krexhammer, a guided hike with the “rau-nachts-mandl” and on January 30th with the “wüden Jaga” are on the program. The start is at 2 p.m. at the large wooden crib on the town square. Registration under Tel. 0676-7718185, as the number of visitors is limited.
