He Social Security Bank (BPS) has already issued the first 2,155 permits for retirees who wish to return to work, after the implementation of the new system after the social security reform approved during the current government administration.
The reform allowed those who meet the conditions to continue working in the sector from which they retired, since before they could continue in activity, but they had to do so in another sector.
According to BPS data, most of the grants were given in Montevideowhere 604 were performed, followed by cannelloni with 302 and Maldonado with 163. At the other extreme, the departments with fewer authorizations were Thirty-three with 42; Rivera with 35 and Flowers with 30.
Of the 2,155 authorizations, 32% were destined for the country’s capital, 14% to cannelloni8% to Maldonado; and the remaining 6% to the department of Colognewhich collected about 129.
Breakdown of work permits by category
In the category division, the rating podium is led by “agricultural production, forestry and fishing” with 447 grants (21%), “trade wholesale and retail” with 340; and “transport and storage” with 323.
These categories are followed by “construction” with 187; that of “administrative activities and support services” with 153; “manufacturing industries” with 141; and “activities of households as employers” with 105.
On the other hand, the least requested divisions were “other service activities” with 55 awards; the teaching category with 45 authorizations; and “arts, entertainment and recreation” with about 42.
73% of approved applications correspond to people in dependency relationship, while the remaining 27% went to those who are in a non-dependency relationship.
