Seriously injured: 19-year-old fell through the roof in Utzenaich

The 19-year-old from Schlüsselberg and his 17-year-old colleague wanted to install a PV system on the roof of a coach house on Thursday afternoon. Using a ladder, the young man climbed to the roof of the building, built in 1901, at 2:25 p.m. to take measurements. But it broke through the roof shingles and the roof battens underneath and fell about nine meters to the concrete floor of the barn. The worker remained seriously injured.

The 17-year-old from Michaelnbach alerted the emergency services and ran out of the shed to get help. He twisted his ankle and injured himself.

He was taken to Ried Hospital, the 19-year-old was treated by the emergency doctor and then flown by helicopter to UKH Linz.
