At 3 p.m., two vehicles collided with each other on the B144 in the intersection area towards Steiger Strasse. The Gschwandt volunteer fire brigade pulled the vehicles involved to a nearby parking lot to open the traffic again, and also took over the remaining clean-up work.
Just under two hours later, the emergency services had to move out again. This time it was about a serious traffic accident on the Scharnsteiner Bundesstrasse B120 at the level of the Schlossberg in Gschwandt. There a 32-year-old driver from Gmunden lost control of his vehicle in a curve. He slid into the oncoming lane and collided with the oncoming car of a Grünauer (52) who was traveling in the direction of Gmunden with his wife (50). All three people were injured in the collision. After receiving first aid from a doctor, they were transported to the surrounding hospitals by rescue helicopter and an ambulance.
Due to the extent of the accident and the landing of the helicopter, the road had to be closed and traffic diverted.
