In total, the market shrank by around 20 percent; volume sales amounted to 5.2 million cubic meters in the previous year.
“Unfortunately, there is currently no sign of a trend reversal. The wheels of bureaucracy are grinding too slowly,” says Roland Hebbel, board member of the advocacy group GDI 2050 (Building Envelope + Insulation Industry 2050). Hebbel is alluding to the situation in the real estate industry. “Unfortunately, it will still be a few months before the construction economic engine gets going again.”
The tripling of funding amounts for renovation and the federal government’s housing package are a lever, but speed in implementation is now needed “in order to provide interest support for housing loans and to generate a positive mood for the need for renovation,” says Hebbel. The GDI has seven member companies, including Internorm.
