A 17-year-old from Esternberg (Schärding district) is facing numerous reports: The boy is said to have used the spray can at least 21 times in his hometown and in the neighboring community of Münzkirchen since 2022. In the past two months, property damage caused by graffiti has increased. Officials from the Münzkirchen police station have now managed to locate the alleged artist.

The 17-year-old confessed to having sprayed various writings on at least 15 walls in public places between February and April. He also admitted further acts in 2022 and 2023. Regarding his motive, he told police that he wanted to improve his graffiti skills. The 17-year-old is now being reported to the Ried im Innkreis public prosecutor’s office for 21 counts of criminal damage, the police announced on Monday evening. The total damage amounts to around 11,000 euros.
