Design advisory board gives the green light: This is what the new “Pro” in Urfahr looks like

The “Pro Kaufland” with retro flair is giving way to a modern new building with green facades and roofs.
The existing building from the 1970s is getting old and is partly empty.

The “Pro Kaufland” in Linz Urfahr is known for its abundance of retro flair. This will soon be over: the building from the 1970s is to be demolished. The project developer Rutter wants to build a new shopping center on the 40,000 square meter area. Yesterday the Linz design advisory board gave its approval to the plans of the architects “Riepl Riepl”.

The new building will take up around half of the area. The sales areas are arranged in three parts of the building around a green “market square”. Commercial space for service providers is planned on the upper floor. The facade is to be partially greened, as is the roof, on which a PV system is also planned. Colonnades, i.e. colonnades, are intended to make the building inviting.
