Firing practice with the use of Javelin was successfully held at the training ground in the area of the Joint Forces (JF) operation in the Donbass. This was announced on Thursday, December 23, at the OOS press center on Facebook.
“Today, at one of the training grounds, the practical execution of firing at armored targets by the crew of the Javelin portable anti-tank missile system took place. The personnel showed perfect possession of this high-precision weapon, ”the message says.
Earlier, the Ukrainian TV channel “Dom” reported about the shootings. It was noted that at present, Kiev has almost 100 launchers and about 500 missiles for them. They can, if necessary, be applied in the Donbass.
The first use of the Javelin ATGM system in Donbass was announced on November 21 by the head of the main intelligence department of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, Kirill Budanov. The installations together with the Turkish Bayraktar drones will become a significant psychological deterrent in the conflict with the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), he assured.
On October 28, member of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Affairs, German MP from the Alternative for Germany party, Maximilian Kra, noted that information about the use of drones by Kiev indicates that Ukraine has no interest in a peaceful settlement of the conflict. Berlin should consider this action as an alarm for its own readiness for military defense, the politician said.
In the same month, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the United States, Germany and France to stop militarizing Ukraine. According to her, the incessant supply of weapons by Western countries strengthens the opinion of Kiev, according to which the resolution of the conflict in Donbass can be achieved through the use of force.
According to her, since 2014, when a coup d’etat took place in Kiev, Washington has provided military support to Kiev for $ 2.5 billion. This year alone, the United States has allocated $ 400 million. For 2022, Washington has provided $ 300 million for arms supplies to Ukraine.
At the same time, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov pointed out that information about the use of these drones in Donbass should make all those who arm Kiev think.
On October 12, the head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik said that Kiev had never observed the ceasefire. This regime exists only on paper and in reality did not last even two weeks, he added.
Since 2014, the Kiev authorities have been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup d’etat and the new government in Ukraine. At the same time, Kiev blames Moscow for the current situation. Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict.
