He raced towards the officers, who quickly got their patrol car to safety. The young person wanted to get away via the Quellenstraße in the direction of Absberggasse and in the area of Gellertgasse and Puchsbaumgasse at speeds of up to 100 kilometers per hour, driving against the one-way lane in Puchsbaumgasse. The 14-year-old Romanian citizen had to stop because of an oncoming car. His friend jumped out of the car and initially ran away unrecognized.
Patrol car blocked return route
Meanwhile, a patrol car had blocked the way back. The 14-year-old reversed his car and drove at the police officers a second time, who were able to get back to safety and finally arrested the young person. He was reported at large and stated that he had simply taken the car keys. In addition to a little joyride with his partner, the boys were probably also hungry: They wanted to get something from a fast food chain.
