Five people, including two children, were injured in a gas explosion in a residential apartment building in the capital of Georgia. This was announced on December 23 by the gas distribution company Tbilisi Energy.
It is clarified that the incident took place in the Tbilisi region of Gldani. According to preliminary data, the explosion was caused by an open gas stove.
“A few minutes ago, an explosion occurred in Gldani due to carelessness and an abandoned gas stove,” the company said in a Facebook statement.
Tbilisi Energy also published photos from the apartment where the explosion took place. Judging by the footage, the blast wave was so powerful that it knocked out the window panes.
The day before, on December 22, a gas explosion occurred in an apartment in a residential building in Kaspiysk. As a result of the incident, three people were injured, including a child. All of them received thermal burns to their face and hands.
