There are positive things to report from the Rieder catering industry. Yesterday, Thursday, “Manika’s Thai Kitchen” opened at Roßmarkt 17. This building was previously home to the “Room Five” restaurant, which closed its doors at the end of January after around two and a half years. The new restaurant is run by Thai native Manika Poodee. She moved her life to the Innviertel in 2006 and has worked in various restaurants in Ried in recent years. By opening her restaurant, she has fulfilled a long-awaited wish. In addition to Thai delicacies, the menu also includes Austrian dishes. There is no classic menu at Manika’s Thai Kitchen. The chef comes up with a new menu every week with changing dishes. Starting next week, there will also be a small menu with three different menus from Monday to Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Manika’s Thai Kitchen not only serves freshly cooked food, but also sells various Asian foods.

Opening hours: Manika’s Thai Kitchen is open Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.

“We’re happy that things are finally getting started”

The official opening of the traditional Platzlwirt inn under the new name M2’s Platzl by Martina and Manuel Gadermayr will take place next Sunday from 10 a.m. with a white sausage breakfast, beer tapping and subsequent lunch with Maibock ragout and Kasnocken. You can take a first look at the restaurant this evening at the Rieder Shopping Night; a small menu is already on offer.

In the past few weeks, the gastro couple, who most recently ran the beach bar at the swimming lake in Pramet, have been intensively busy with the preparations. “It was a really exciting time. Now we’re really happy that it’s finally getting started. We’re really looking forward to the fact that we can finally serve our guests,” says Martina Gadermayr in an interview with OÖNachrichten. The guest garden in the inner courtyard of the inn with around 40 seats and bar tables was also redesigned.

Opening hours: M2’s Platzl is open from Sunday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Lunch menus are available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and there is a small menu in the afternoon. The inn remains closed on Friday and Saturday.
