The city of Leonding invested 11.4 million euros last year. The renovation of the teaching pool in the Hart sports hall and the construction of the new water slide cost 660,000 euros in 2023, and 400,000 euros for the construction of the children’s education and care facility in Untergaumberg. Connecting some parts of the city to the water supply after contamination was discovered in the groundwater wells there cost more than 1.2 million euros. In order to finance these investments, a loan of 5 million euros was necessary.

Positive result from ongoing business activities
Current business activities brought a positive result of almost 950,000 euros. Mayor Sabine Naderer-Jelinek (SP) therefore spoke of a “more encouraging financial statement than originally expected”. However, the 2023 financial year was not a “normal” one, because inflation and economic conditions presented cities and municipalities with challenges when planning projects.
