Badge engineering is widespread in the automotive industry. What this means is that one manufacturer leaves a ready-made model to another manufacturer. This person puts their own logo (badge) on it, usually adapts the front and rear to their own design language and then takes the marketing of the car into their own hands.
There are many examples of this in recent history, just think of the quadruplets Citroën Evasion, Fiat Ulysse, Lancia Zeta and Peugeot 806. Or the Audi 50 and VW Polo. Or Seat Mii, Skoda Citigo and VW up!. Or Ford Tourneo Connect and VW Caddy. Or the Cupra Born and VW ID.3. Or Mitsubishi ASX and Renault Captur.
