Between 4 p.m. and midnight, the state transport department and the police checked 56 vehicles in the two districts. 25 of them had to immediately undergo a technical inspection at the testing center in Steyr. Three vehicles were found to have such serious technical defects that their license plates were removed on the spot. In total, the checks resulted in 89 advertisements.
Some drivers also didn’t take the speed very seriously: the speed of 3,887 vehicles was measured, 347 of which were too fast. One driver was even traveling at 87 km/h in the Steyr area.
The officers also caught three alcohol drivers: one of them – he had more than 0.8 per mille – had his driver’s license immediately confiscated. In addition, 32 executive mandates were issued for other traffic law violations. The results of the main campaign: penalty notices totaling five-digit euros.
