It is questionable whether the outdoor pool will even be open this year. The search for a lifeguard has been difficult for weeks, as Obernberg’s mayor Martin Bruckbauer reports. “Unfortunately, the search has not yet been successful. It is extremely difficult to find a lifeguard,” says Bruckbauer. Although there are applicants, they will only be able to start work in a few weeks.
So that the community does not experience such a situation again, it was decided to turn the outdoor pool into a natural pool. The project has already been submitted to the state. “With a natural pool, we wouldn’t be so dependent on staff. In addition, our outdoor pool is already very old and a renovation would be too expensive,” informs Bruckbauer. However, the project will not be possible without financial support from the state of Upper Austria. “We are hoping for a financial injection from the state,” says Bruckbauer.
