The two Lower Austrians, a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old, both from the Amstetten district, ran to the nearest police station after the attack and filed a report. They reported that they had just been attacked and stolen from by two young people.

Together with two patrols they returned to the Donaulände, where they immediately recognized the two perpetrators, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old from Linz, in the middle of a youth group. Both were taken away by the police and taken to the police station to clarify the matter.

It was confirmed that the two people from Linz had injured the two people from Lower Austria with blows and had taken a 5 euro note.

While the Lower Austrians were being cared for by the rescue team, the two young attackers were taken to the Linz police detention center.
