Not only did the man apparently plan to tow his girlfriend’s car hundreds of kilometers along the highway, he was also driving without a valid driver’s license, the state police headquarters reported on Sunday evening. The 38-year-old Slovakian’s car, who was pulling his girlfriend’s car behind him with a rope, was noticed by officials from the state transport department on Sunday morning near the Ansfelden Süd rest stop.
During the check, the man could only show a photo of a Greek driving license; he had forgotten his own at home in Slovakia. As it turned out, it was a total fake. The 38-year-old also told the police that he wanted to tow his girlfriend’s car from Germany to Vienna. In Austria, towing private vehicles on motorways is only permitted to the next exit. The man is reported.
