Two callers called the police over the weekend because they heard whining coming from the engine compartment of a car. When the officers and the car owner opened the engine compartment, a small black dog looked at them. In order to free the animal, the officers first had to remove a hose, the statement continued.
The weakened dog, which suffered from tick and flea infestation, was then taken to an animal shelter. The astonished car owner stated that he had just returned from Romania and had already noticed a whining sound there, but he did not attribute it to his vehicle. From this, the officials concluded that the puppy had already climbed into the engine compartment unnoticed in Romania.
