At around 9:15 p.m., a 22-year-old from the Schärding district was carrying out welding work on his car in a machine shop in the municipality of Brunnenthal. The interior of the car caught fire in the trunk area.
Shortly afterwards, the entire vehicle burned and the flames even spread to the machine hall, so that it was completely engulfed in flames a short time later. 60 firefighters were able to quickly bring the fire under control. The 22-year-old suffered injuries of an unspecified degree and was taken to Schärding Hospital.
