Marcel Hirscher, eight-time overall World Cup winner and therefore one of the most successful ski racers of all time, announced his retirement after a five-year break and will return to the Ski World Cup under the Dutch flag next season.
The comeback of the Salzburger also came as a surprise to the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen – even though he has been on Hirscher’s Van Deer skis since 2022. In any case, Kristoffersen has a lot of confidence in his “boss” in the ORF interview: “At first I didn’t know what to think about it and was just surprised.
