In December, the Wildberries analytical service recorded an increase in purchasing activity outside Russia. Experts found out what goods foreigners ordered most often.
So, from December 1 to December 23, 2021, residents of the USA, Germany, France, Israel, Moldova and other countries ordered goods for a record amount of 5.7 billion rubles, which is 70% more than a year earlier. On the eve of the Christmas and New Year holidays, buyers from 18 foreign countries of Wildberries’ presence most often ordered cosmetics and perfumes, clothes, toys, various household goods and goods for the holiday.
Children’s books were in first place in terms of demand among foreigners. On the second – dresses, on the third – creams. Also, residents of foreign countries often ordered board games, pajamas, cosmetic care kits, figurines, play sets, construction sets and soft toys.
In December, residents of Israel, Latvia, Germany, Estonia and the USA made the most active purchases on Wildberries. In particular, gift wrapping of chocolate and tea sets in Israel became the most popular goods from Russia in Israel, in Latvia – large sets of construction sets and interactive soft toys, in the USA – the books “Christmas Pig” by J.K. Rowling and “Adventures of New Year’s Toys” by Elena Rakitina.
The company also noted an increase in demand for Russian-made goods: jewelry (+ 496%), tableware and kitchen utensils (+ 196%) and hair accessories (+ 127%).
Earlier on Friday, a study by the Moscow branch of Opora Rossii showed that store certificates took the first place among New Year gifts to business partners and relatives. Most of the certificates are the ability to receive services in medical centers in Moscow. Also popular are certificates for perfumes and jewelry, analysts added.
Among the gifts there are also certificates for the publication of his own book.
