Shortly before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the 48-year-old descended about 20 meters over steep forest terrain on a fixed rope into a stream bed and, by moving on the steel cable, loosened a stone above him, which rolled down and hit him in the face.
A work colleague started the rescue chain; in addition to the emergency medical helicopter “Martin 3”, the rescue service, the emergency doctor and the fire department, the mountain rescue service and the Alpine police were also on duty. After initial care, the injured person was rescued onto the forest road using a stretcher and static rope pulley and taken to the Wels Clinic.
