With his “Beer Guide”, the self-proclaimed beer pope Conrad Seidl has created a popular reference work for fans of special beer. Seidl combined the celebration of the 25th edition of his primer in the Schweizerhaus in Vienna’s Prater with a tasting of a specialty from the Mühlviertel. A cuveé of Granitbock and Granit EIS Bock from the Hofstetten brewery was presented. Under the expert guidance of master brewers Peter Krammer and Conrad Seidl, guests were able to experience the harmonious fusion of the two beers and enjoy their fine aromas.
One outstanding feature of this beer was highlighted: With a shelf life of 25 years, this blend of two bock beers shows that quality and taste are not just a flash in the pan. Properly stored, this strong beer matures even further and becomes more complex. As the crowning glory of the evening for master brewer Krammer, this cuveé was awarded beer innovation of the year together with Hofstetten’s “G’froren’s” port wine, the “Friends NEIPA” and the “Friends NEIPA Sour”.
