A traffic stop was fatal for a 62-year-old drug user from Altmünster: The woman was stopped by a patrol from the Seewalchen motorway police on Tuesday around 3 p.m. at the Regau motorway exit (Vöcklabruck district). It turned out that the driver did not have a driver’s license and had also gotten behind the wheel of her car under the influence of drugs. A rapid drug test was positive, but the woman refused to take an alcohol test and be taken to the medical officer.
Officers found drug paraphernalia in the car. The Wels public prosecutor’s office then ordered a house search at the woman’s home in Altmünster (Gmunden district). Police seized 800 grams of cannabis herb, various drug paraphernalia and a prohibited weapon. The driver and her partner of the same age will be reported, the police announced on Wednesday afternoon.
