Donated a ton of food

Usually you take small gifts from Advent calendars. But it also works the other way around: “Put it in instead of take it out” was the name of a joint campaign by the parishes in Vöcklabruck and Regau this Advent. Simple cribs were set up in the churches, in which people could deposit donations in kind for the social market “Der Korb”. The Protestant parish, the Catholic parish Regau and Vöcklabruck, as well as the New Apostolic Church Vöcklabruck participated.

And the population was generous, the cribs literally passed over. A total of 931 kilos of flour, sugar, rice, pasta, long-life milk, etc. came together a few days before Christmas for the customers of the social market. “So we are not far from the one ton”, said a happy parish council chairwoman Elisabeth Würzl-Baldinger on Thursday.

Gabriele Brandstetter from the social market “Der Korb” thanks her very warmly: “We are really happy about this campaign and can really use the donated goods. On the peak days of Advent, 85 people came here to shop and we can only issue these goods with weekly limits. “
