The accused is accused of having shot a 34-year-old countryman in the parking lot of a shopping center with a cinema on Wiener Neustädter Stadionstrasse at around 12:30 a.m. on September 24th. The victim was hit three times by a handgun. The suspected perpetrator was arrested several hours later in Röszke on the Hungarian-Serbian border. The suspected murder weapon was also seized.

The authorities in Wiener Neustadt had issued a European arrest warrant, which also gave rise to the extradition request. However, the 42-year-old’s transfer to Austria was delayed because proceedings were pending in Hungary regarding the alleged murder weapon.
