Drug investigators confiscated 1.3 tons of ketamine in Hong Kong

The street sales value of the synthetic drugs is estimated at 840 million Hong Kong dollars (95.22 million euros). Police reportedly confiscated the drugs Friday morning when they were being unloaded from a speedboat in the coastal district of Lei Yue Mun. Three Hong Kong men and one Indian man were arrested and taken into custody.

According to the Hong Kong police, drug traffickers are currently dependent on larger and riskier shipments because of the Corona travel restrictions because they can no longer smuggle in drug couriers by plane. They use fishing boats or ocean-going ships to bring the drugs near the Hong Kong coast. “Then they organize speedboats to smuggle the drugs ashore,” a police representative told journalists.
