The women’s national team also wants to celebrate in Ried on May 31st.

It’s a very special premiere on Friday, May 31st, in the Innviertel Arena. The Austrian women’s national team is playing in Ried for the first time. The opponent is Iceland at 6 p.m. The game is of great importance for coach Irene Fuhrmann’s team in the fight for a ticket to the 2025 European Championships in Switzerland. After a 2-3 defeat against Germany and a 3-1 win in Poland, the Austrians could take an important step towards European Championship qualification with a home win. The first two teams in the group of four are qualified for the final round. “We are pleased that the women’s national team is playing such an important match with us in Ried. It shows that we have developed a very good reputation as a venue for international matches,” says SV Ried President Thomas Gahleitner.

“We are very happy that we can be guests in Ried for the first time. With many fans in the stands, the Innviertel Arena can be a real cauldron,” says ÖFB team boss Irene Fuhrmann.

SV Ried marketing manager Tim Entenfellner expects a sold-out stadium for the first women’s international match in Ried. Since standing room is not permitted at international games, the capacity of the regular seats is 3,800. In addition, a maximum of 500 VIP tickets can be sold. “So far we have sold more than 2,500 tickets. You can tell that there is great interest in women’s football. We are looking forward to a great evening of football, hopefully with a victory for the Austrians,” says Entenfellner.
