Dángelo de la Cruz is a chef born in Peru who has been in Buenos Aires for twenty years. After passing through different kitchens (during which he met his partner and partner, Luisana Quinta), he dedicated himself to selling Peruvian food from his home inspired by the typical “carretillas”, which are the stalls in the popular markets of Lima in where you buy ceviches and other fresh dishes. This venture gained unexpected momentum during the pandemic: the first Asu Mare headquarters opened its doors in 2021 in the neighborhood of Eleven, where there is a large Peruvian community. At the end of that year, the branch of Palermo. And in 2022, a third branch was inaugurated, in the gastronomic patio of Paseo La Plaza.

The spaces maintain the same aesthetic line in which phrases and murals that refer to the Inca spirit can be seen. The Palermo location is spacious, with tables for large and small groups and an internal patio with plants, while the Paseo La Plaza location is a little smaller, ideal for an on-the-go experience near the theater area. All branches have in common an attractive visible bar where diners can see the preparation of the chosen dishes and cocktails.

At Asu Mare, the menu features dishes with fresh fish, such as sole or grouper, and seafood. The stars are the ceviche and there is a wide variety: classic, seafood, mixed, even a vegetarian option that they recently added. They also have causes, hot dishes (rice with seafood, parihuela, squid chicharrón), specials, marine duos or trios and a huge boat-shaped snack that invites you on a journey of flavors, ideal for those who are undecided or for those who are approaching for the first time to this type of cuisine.
