A small Kin-Avia plane killed a child as he crossed the runway at Ilebo airfield in Kasai province in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This was reported on December 24 by the local edition 7sur7.
As the head of the administration of the Ilebo territory, François Kabul Kasongo, said, the plane flew to the capital of the DRC – the city of Kinshasa. On takeoff, he shot down a 12-year-old boy who was crossing the runway with his peers.
“It was a boy, at least 12 years old, who was crossing the runway at the airport when the plane took off. The plane flying to Kinshasa crushed him, the boy died on the spot … The plane continued on its way to Kinshasa. We have forbidden to cross the runway, but people do not understand, ”Kasongo said.
Earlier, on December 15, a DHC-6 turbine aircraft of Aurora Airlines shot down a fox at Vladivostok International Airport during a training flight. The crew was not injured. The press service of the airport noted that the incident did not affect the operation of the air harbor.
