The fire departments from Scharten and Finklham were alerted to a kitchen fire shortly after 9 p.m. As soon as we arrived, large parts of the building were in flames, alert level 2 was declared and additional emergency services were requested. The fire was brought under control relatively quickly, but extinguishing work took until Monday morning. The last fire brigades were only able to finish the operation shortly before 7 a.m.
Two people had to receive medical attention from the rescue team. An elderly resident of the house was injured and was taken to hospital by ambulance after first aid.
The cause of the fire is currently unclear.
