When the FF Asten and the FF Raffelstetten arrived at the fire on Sunday evening, only smoldering fires had to be extinguished. “The efforts of the residents prevented a major fire incident,” says operations manager Michael Gumpesberger of the FF Asten.

Damaged roof truss
The heavily smoked attic was ventilated by the fire department’s breathing apparatus using a high-performance fan. To ensure that the fire did not spread further, parts of the inner roof cladding had to be opened. “We had to determine where the fire came from in order to prevent the roof structure from catching fire,” says Gumpesberger.
The house did not have to be evacuated. No one was injured in the fire on Mother’s Day. The cause of the fire is currently unclear.
