At the Flèche du Sud in Luxembourg, the Steyr Hrinkow Advarics team completed a successful dress rehearsal for the upcoming domestic season highlights. Maximilian Kabas secured the mountain jersey on the second stage and never gave it up. With a strong performance in a three-man leading group, he took all five mountain classifications of the day.
The next day his teammates followed up. Jonas Rapp came third in the stage, Jaka Primozic finished fourth. The former also took the jersey in the combination ranking (best points across all categories), while the latter was the most active driver of the day. Both jerseys were taken to Steyr after the final stage. In the overall ranking, Rapp came fourth, Primozic fifth, and the Hrinkow team third.
“From a team perspective, we put in a great performance. The performance is high because the Flèche du Sud is strong,” says sporting director Matej Mugerli. Now the Malopolska tour follows, before the Upper Austria tour is on the program.
