Rescue, fire brigade and police were on duty in the municipality of Ried in der Riedmark (Perg district) on Monday afternoon: A 47-year-old car driver lost control of his car at around 4:45 p.m. near the town of Niederzirking. The Hungarian, who lives in St. Valentin, continued to drive in a left-hand bend, came off the L1412 and hit a hunter’s fence before the vehicle came to a stop on the fence.
The 47-year-old suffered such serious injuries in the accident that he had to be taken to a hospital in Linz. An alcohol test gave a positive result. The man had to temporarily surrender his driver’s license. A report will be filed, the police announced on Monday evening. The emergency services from the Ried Volunteer Fire Department in Riedmark were called in to carry out the clean-up work.
