A thief stole two gold chains from a house in Wilhering (Linz-Land district) on Monday: The unknown person entered the house of an 82-year-old around midday after the elderly resident had briefly gone outside. When the pensioner returned, her dog attacked the pet and barked loudly at the man.
The search was unsuccessful
The perpetrator explained in broken German that he was looking for a hotel and ran away. A little later, the woman noticed that the jewelry was missing and that several drawers in the apartment had been opened. The victim’s neighbor alerted the police, but an immediate search was unsuccessful, the police said on Monday evening.
