On his way to work, a 51-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district was hit by a car and injured early Wednesday morning. The man was riding his e-bike in the center of Schwanenstadt around 4:40 a.m. when the accident occurred at the intersection of the B135 and the town square. According to the victim’s statements, the driver of a brown and gold SUV probably ignored a stop sign, drove into the intersection and hit the cyclist.

According to the police, the driver of the accident then continued driving without exchanging any data with the cyclist. Despite his injuries, the 51-year-old cycled to his place of work, where he called the police by phone. The investigation is ongoing. The Schwanenstadt police station is asking for information about the hit-and-run driver by calling 059133 4172.
