Sigharting is celebrating a music festival “again” in July

In 50 days the time has come: Under the motto “Scho again in Sigharting”, the Sigharting music association is organizing this year’s district music festival in Schärding. “We were only allowed to organize the festival 13 years ago, in 2011. During the planning and various conversations, this ‘Scho again’ was often mentioned. Without further ado, we decided to make it our festival slogan,” says MVS- Chairman Florian Propst. Together with his young organizational team, Propst is already in the middle of preparing for one of the largest events in the district. From Friday, July 5th to Sunday, July 7th, more than 6,000 visitors are expected at the Sighartinger sports field. More than 40 guest bands have already confirmed their attendance. There are also the 30 Schärdinger music clubs that will take part in the traditional marching competition on Sunday. “In order to be able to organize a festival of this magnitude, you not only need good organization, but of course also numerous helpers and sponsors. We can count on great support here,” says Propst.

“Highlight of the year”

Fire brigade, clubs, community: In small Sigharting, which has around 900 residents, everyone pitches in to provide the perfect stage for brass music. The festival weekend begins on Friday with a company and club evening, including a beer tapping. The following day, the youth march competition takes place on Saturday, and in the evening there is a reception for the guest bands, which culminates in a celebratory ceremony.

The big highlight of the festival weekend, however, is the marching competition of the Schärding district, where traditionally entertaining and musically high-quality performances can be seen. “The musical quality is very high. In addition to the standard marching program, many bands also put on a great show,” says Propst, who is already looking forward to the special atmosphere at the music festival: “It’s the highlight of the year for every musician. The whole district Come together and have a great time.”
