“Days ago and on multiple occasions during prime time on open television and television for subscribers, advertising was carried out by the National Party in favor of the presidential candidacy of Alvaro Delgado ”, details the document in which laws 17,045 and 17,818 on advertising of political parties are cited.
In its complaint, the Frente Amplio stated that “there is no doubt that the infringement is manifestly intentionalwith knowledge of the illegitimate act that is carried out”, since the National Party has extensive knowledge of the regulations regarding electoral advertising and its deadlines.
“The denounced advertising piece does not report on ‘…political acts and usual activities of the functioning of the parties…’. Consequently, the piece to which we refer and denounce is clearly an electoral advertisement,” the presentation underlined.
Delgado’s spot is a compilation of the works carried out by the current government, interspersing management promises of the white presidential candidate, to end with a plaque where you are invited to read the government program on a web page.
From the campaign of the former Secretary of the Presidency, they assured that the audiovisual piece promotes the website and the government plan, which is why it constitutes one of the exceptions to the law of political advertising.
Delgado stated this Thursday during an event in Florida that “obviously no electoral prohibition is violated here, we are not violating any rules.”
