From October 26th to December 20th there were exactly 133,999 air conditioning tickets sold.
Regarding the cancellation of the Lobau tunnel, Gewessler said that “more roads mean more traffic and more cars”. She has no understanding for the threats of legal action by the city of Vienna against young activists who want to prevent the construction of the city street. “In such a situation, it is always better to rely on dialogue and not threaten young people, sometimes children first, and scientists with lawsuits.” She therefore thinks it is correct that the City of Vienna “has now taken a step back”.
Despite the turbulence in the ÖVP, Gewessler assessed the state of the coalition as positive. It was good and right “that the ÖVP quickly ensured clarity and now has a functioning team”. With the new Chancellor Karl Nehammer there is “a good basis for discussion”. If it goes according to her, the government will last until the end of the legislative period in 2024, according to Gewessler.
